Local NFP Champion initiative

The Nurse-Family Partnership National Service Office is thrilled to announce a new opportunity for representatives from local NFP programs, the Local NFP Champion initiative. Through the initiative, Local NFP Champions will serve as year-round educators and/or advocates for their community, to their elected officials. With support from the NFP-NSO Policy and Government Affairs team, our Local NFP Champions will learn how to be effective advocates (or sharpen the skills they already have) by engaging their federal elected officials with phone calls, letters, and/or district office meetings and, most importantly, Local NFP Champion events.

BECOME A LOCAL NFP CHAMPION

What is a Local NFP Champion Event?

Any event that spotlights your local NFP program and is attended by a member of Congress or their staff member. Local NFP Champions across the country will invite members of Congress and their staff to see their NFP programs first-hand at site visits, graduations, Community Advisory Board meetings, special events etc. The Local NFP Champion advocacy model allows local NFP Programs to create unique experiences for members of Congress that demonstrate the power of the NFP model and the importance of investing in the program.

Who can Become a Local NFP Champion?

Anyone who represents a local NFP program, such as an NFP administrator, Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Home Visitor, Community Advisory Board member, etc. Representatives of local NFP programs and Community Advisory Board are welcome to join as a small group or as an individual.
